The two-and-a-half-year-old saga of false rape charges and persecution of Paramahamsa Nithyananda came to its definite conclusion on 1^st October this year, with the shocking revelation of the medical records of Aarthi Rao, the woman who has been accusing Nithyananda of sexually abusing her for over 5 years (2005-2009).

A Karnataka television station named Janasri has exposed Aarthi Rao’s comprehensive medical records spanning seven years (2004-2010) from the University of Michigan Hospitals in the USA, which reveal that Aarthi, a US citizen, has been a carrier of three variants of a highly contagious sexually transmitted disease (STD) known as Herpes since 2004.

Worldwide demand for Aarthi's arrest

With Aarthi Rao’s medical records putting to an end all speculation and accusations against Nithyananda for the past 2.5 years, the spiritual leader’s followers worldwide are in a mood of celebration. Spiritual groups, local groups and devotees are staging peaceful protests across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, demanding the immediate arrest of Aarthi, the quashing of all the false cases against Nithyananda and an inquiry into the CID for their handling of the case. International devotees have approached the Indian embassy in their countries and submitted petitions appealing for support for justice for Nithyananda.

Veteran Hindu leader and former International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Sri Ashok Singhal also said that the Govt. must withdraw the false rape charges against Nithyananda.
